SMASHED UP CAPRI

Look at my poor car... Poor sexy rex has gone to the big car yard in the sky!

1970 Ford Capri GT V6 - smashed front, parts for sale – call my mechanic Costa for details on what’s there – 0409 018 123 – spread the word and help Rex save a small Ford’s life – or call Sarah on 0408 743 708 me if you have a car for sale between $5000 and $10000 that you think I’d like - no V8’s cos petrol’s too damn expensive!.

what i need done:
new fuel system (its a long story)

SILV'S VAL

What's your cars name?
Her name's Sharron, a good Aussie name for a good Aussie car.

How did you come to acquire such a beautiful shitheap?
Always wanted one so I went and bought it off a little dero in the suburbs.

Is there anything special about your car?
Yeah, she has a lot of character, the engine never over heats and she has original wheels.

What work have you had done to it?
Haven't had to do much at all just had to get her road worthy.

What work are you planning to do to it?
Get the rust cut out of her and a great spray job.

Had any interesting/humorous/annoying experiences in it?
I get a lot of little boys leaving they're numbers under the wipers asking me to give them a call if I ever decide to sell it.

What are it's strong points?
It always goes.

What are its weak points?
Haven't found any yet.

What car would you really like to drive?
If i didn't have this it would probably be a Ford Falcon XA GT coupe.

Australian Muscle Car Day

George went along to the Australian Muscle Car Day last weekend and took some photos. As you can see he's a Charger Man, but since he owns that magenta beast we'll let him do whatever he likes!

SMASH AND BASH

Here's a pic sent in by Jerv of his beloved Stang. The damage was done at the AGP by a runaway Charger which had lost its brakes... All things considered it could have been a lot worse.

1973 BUICK RIVIERA

Well it's been a while since we posted a new member but this one is a corker. Check out this behemoth, so sleek, so long, so like a big cherry red panther on wheels. As you've probably noticed on the plates, this car lives in the USA so we won't be expecting her to show up with owner Mark Smith to any club meets anytime soon. Anyway, that makes Mark our first internationale member, welcome to the FMCC!

1973 buick riviera
dropped and cleaned of all external details...no mirrors, door handles, trim.

it's simply referred to as "the riv"

grampa left many things on the earth, this one became mine

new paint, 18 coats pearl red with 18 coats clear coated
interior was all redone with air jordan xiii black
reflective scholler fabric and air jordan 12 leather appointments.
sound system, lowered with 19's. authentic and original
cb radio still in tact. blacked out windows.
vic is often spotted driving the riv.

22's, custom designed coming this year or next decade.
it will be featured as the star of the film
"the riv"

when i was 11, grandma and grandpa were driving
my brother and i to the stor at the naval base,
a good half hour drive in the nowhere of central california,
big bump happened, they stopped and stepped out to find we had
killed a huge pheasant. we turned around, never making it to the store,
and ate the damn thing for dinner.

old black doods and young white kids alike,
smile and point and have something to say about it...

there's always something that needs a lil werq,
wouldn't be an old american car otherwise.

nothing else.

TIJUANA TAXIS ON SMITH ST

Now you might think when you look at these pics that they are some crazy email that gets sent round the office for a gag, but I can assure you that this car was parked out the front of the FMCC office on Smith Street a few weeks ago.

At first glance I thought it was your average shit box Camira but closer inspection revealed that this is a very special car indeed.

The bonnet badge identifies it as a V12, Hex-Mex, Chilli Edition "Azteca" Chevrolet Firebird. And let's not let those bonnet pipes go unnoticed either! What great beastly V12 can possibly be hiding under there???

I was intrigued at the choice of whitewalls on the back and blackwalls on the front. I was even more intrigued as to the layers of gunk covering the tyres! Check it out...

Unfortunately I didn't see the dude get in and drive off but I can only guess as to the mental of the owner. How the hell can this car be allowed to roam the streets?

MUSCLE CAR PICS

Here's something to take your mind off music! Clinton Walker is finishing a book on Australian 60/70s muscle cars - It's a history of cars/racing/engines/speed leading up to the Monaro, Charger, etc. What he is still looking for is more great images - photos, stickers, ads, record covers, anything. If you have any leads he could chase up, please let him know asap.

XMAS PARTY PHOTOS

Well we came (some of us anyway), we saw and we conquered. What a mental nite out, more bands than you can poke a stick at, deejays, snags and of course beer - lots of it. The Fitzroy Muscle Car club Xmas Party was a total ball tearer, I don't think I have laughed harder, ever. From the bizarre antics of the Wayfaring Strangers to the burning jocks of the Onyas and the cranking sets from Legends and Fez Perez, this was one party not to miss, even if we cant remember much of it.... coinicidentally, who did win the meat tray?

Thanks to all the bands, the Tote, the deejays, Beech for the prizes, the sound dudes and most of all to Dave Chatfield who pretty much organised the whole event by himself. Genius! And the best part of all was that we raised around 700 bucks for the club, so we now have some dosh for bumper stickers, a banner and some other stuff that we need but haven't thought of yet. Classic....

More photos will be loaded once I remember where I put the film - woody

The Onyas go eye to eye!

The burning jocks from hell.

The smell of burning jocks drives the women wild!

Ahh, the meat!

Cam looks like someone just tried to steal his meat tray!

Wayfaring strangers go climb a tree!

HAINZY'S WAGON

What are the specs on your car?
1972 HQ, 350 chev, 350 turbo, 3500 Hi stall, Ford 9 inch, Windowless, extra fast red van....

What's your cars name?
I always ask, but it never tells me. I like to consider it the working mans pope mobile though...

How did you come to acquire such a beautiful shitheap?
Ive been working on my own van for about 3 years, then one day I spotted this baby for sale and decided to reap the rewards of another mans hard labor

Is there anything special about your car?
No car cancer. Amazing Nick for a 31 year old tank. Its got lots of chrome bits and backwards facing speakers from its days as a show car. Also its got porno mirrored walls, and has a note which sets off car alarms in any carpark. Even some across town... Apparently....

What work have you had done to it?
The guy before me did all the hard work. Body off chassis type rebuild. Basically everything in the car is new. Except me, who`s slightly older that the car itself. I wish someone would`ve put some of that money into rebuilding me.

What work are you planning to do to it?
Nothing. Its all done. I`m actually working on my other HQ van which will be a monaro, Sandman Hybrid that will upset all the various holden purists. So this beast will eventually be found in the trading post. If I was Lindsay Fox and could afford my own classic car museum, this would be pride of place! But unfortunately......

Had any interesting/humorous/annoying experiences in it?
Older guys always telling me stories about their vans in the seventies is ongoing and great! Also people sticking pornography under the wipers sometimes. People wanting to hire it. Ive had people writing in the dust that they wanted to fuck in the back or on the bonnet.... Well, I assume they were people. Always knowing that i`m the coolest guy at the drive in is quite satisfying.

What are it's strong points?
No side windows!

What are its weak points?
No side windows!

What car would you really like to drive?
I don`t think Id drive anything other than a van. You can sleep in it, get wood, and take people, or get wood and sleep with people in it... Its all good!

SANDOWN RACING

Anyone interested in some historic Racing this weekend? I think Jervis is taking out the Mustang so that would be worth the price of admission alone..... all enquiries to Claudine.Lewis@dhs.vic.gov.au I would say racing would start about 10 -11am and tickets will be $15-$20. If enough people want to go I guess we can meet at Safeway again at about 9:30 -10:00 - it should only take about 45 minutes to get there.
